How to Create Unmatched Promotional Campaigns
In order to boost spending in local economy, the Hong Kong Government launched Phase II of the Consumption Voucher Scheme in 2022. One of the six digital wallets to redeem consumption vouchers, WeChat Pay Hong Kong (WPHK) decided to host a chain of promotional activities across large-scale shopping malls in Hong Kong, to encourage registration for redemption of consumption vouchers via WeChat Pay. In this event, Ztory was entrusted to organise campaigns and design booths.

Event Concept
Under the new round of Consumption Voucher Scheme, all major payment platforms launched rewards and discounts to attract new users. Ztory had observed that these bonuses usually only benefited new members but not existing ones. Therefore, the team came up with a slogan – ‘Shop More for Quadruple Rewards’ – to extend promotional discounts to all users, attracting new users while retaining existing users.
Echoing the ‘shopping festival’ theme, Ztory used Japanese-style lanterns and wooden plaques as props in decorating promotional booths. Apart from festive designs, the team made sure to tailor each booth’s layout according to the size of different malls, ensuring effectiveness and coherence.

All in all, promotional events tend to be presented in similar ways but as long as you get creative, invent interesting themes and appealing visual designs, you will be able to create one unique experience.
