One of the biggest local electronic payment platforms, WeChat Pay Hong Kong (WPHK) organises promotional activities every Lunar New Year to celebrate with potential and valued customers. In 2022, Ztory was engaged to launch a range of festive specials for the Lunar New Year.

Event Concept

The Ztory team had analysed that the company’s past promotions were mostly done online. Despite positive feedback, these activities were fairly similar and lacked variety. Moving forward, Ztory proposed a series of real-life events, including mobile advertising trailers touring around Hong Kong distributing goodie bags, as well as playing a game of electronic fortune-telling lottery for enhanced interaction with the public. Adding to the cheery New Year mood, Ztory invited local artists such as Lana Wong and Kalok Chow for more publicity of WPHK’s Red Packet function.

A Final Word

The trend of online events has seen a surge in recent years, with many traditional events adapting to a digital format. Yet, it is undeniable that both online and offline advertising have their merits for businesses. By utilizing the strengths of each approach, businesses can offer consumers a more holistic experience.
