Design Concept
Artefacts conservation is an extremely complex work which involves multiple fields such as science, history and art. It is difficult for the audience to digest and understand the relevant concepts in a couple of minutes. Therefore, the team suggested that the conservation specialists act as ‘Doctor Artefacts’ and take the audience on a journey through the inner side of the hospital (the Conservation Office). The video begins with an introduction of the roles of the office followed by two conservation stories, in which the specialists explain how they apply knowledge and technology to restore and rescue the artefacts so as to present them to the general public.
Videos are not only an information carrier but also a medium of communication for the general public to acquire new knowledge. As a creator, it is necessary to consider how the audience interprets the video, and present complex information in a simplified and easily digestible manner.
