VIDEO: HISTORICAL STORIES ARE THE ICING ON THE CAKE
Situated within the boundaries of Sai Kung Country Park, Sheung Yiu is a Hakka village that was built in the 19th century. At that time, the villagers made a living by farming, lime making, bricks and tiles making. However, the mortar and lime-making industries gradually declined after the Second World War. Sheung Yiu Village was then deserted by the local residents as they moved out to earn a living. Until the 1980s, the village was opened as the Sheung Yiu Folk Museum after full restoration. The museum recreates the atmosphere and environment of a small Hakka village. To encourage the general public to visit the museum, Ztory was commissioned by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to film a promotional video for the Folk Museum.

Design Concept
Since Sheung Yiu Village is located adjacent to the bay, it was used to be disturbed by pirates and brigands in the past. In connection with the history, the team proposed the concept of finding lost treasures in the uncharted territory. To create the treasure hunt atmosphere, the team includes elements that are related to pirates, such as compasses, maps and sailing boats. Furthermore, the Assistant Curator of the Folk Museum introduced the origin, architectural and historical merits of the museum, as a guide in the video. With this video, it is hoped to encourage the public to step into the uncharted territory and discover its hidden beauty.
